Amazon No Longer Selling Final Fantasy Versus XIII

Versus Amazon 01

After taking pre-orders for Final Fantasy Versus XIII for many years, Amazon no longer lists Versus XIII on their site for pre-order. The Japanese Amazon site also shows the same thing. You can see the from the image above that you can still purchase the game (for some reason) from sellers on the Amazon site. Here is an image from October 9th, 2012 showing what the page would show if the game was still up for pre-order.

The latest rumor claimed that Final Fantasy Versus XIII will now be launching exclusively on Sony’s next generation console.

So what do you guys think this means? Is it possible that Square Enix really is re-branding the game as Final Fantasy XV, and will share this announcement during Sony’s E3 press conference? Let us know what you think in the comment section, and stay up to date on everything Final Fantasy with Project Crystallis.

if they rename versus to 15 there being cheap and taking 1 game out of the possible equation.

That’s silly reasoning. Numbers are infinite. If they rename Versus to 15, then a possible 15 is only renamed to 16, etc.

Renaming Versus 15 is a poor decision because the promised gameplay is different to the turn-based battle system all previous main title FFs have shared.

Your second statement means nothing. FFs always (and should) change drastically from one installment to the next, always trying new things. Having something completely new like an action-based combat system in Versus would only help their cause.

Yes, there are similar “mythos” in Versus and the XIII series, but there are numerous inter-game connections throughout the franchise. I feel like making this a main line title is a good idea, just maybe not making it a PS4 exclusive.

While I agree with you, I feel they’ve changed something they shouldn’t have in the last few games.

XIII was boring to me. As was XII. I don’t play MMO’s but I’ll let XI and XIV’s track records speak for themselves.

Ignoring remakes, the last FF I played and enjoyed was Crisis Core. And that got boring just at the end, so I never finished it. which is how I felt about XII. I made it 40 hours into XIII and got tired of running down halls.

I’m fine with trying new things, but whatever every FF game before XI had, they’ve changed and I’m simply not interested anymore.

I just want them to hurry up and release FF Versus XIII (or whatever they decide to call it), so I can get Kingdom Hearts III sometime within the next decade.

The FF series will have to redeem itself for me before I’ll play any of the new games. I bought XIII new and it was a complete waste of money in my eyes.
